Yesterday was no ordinary day for Yours Sincerely.
It turned into a remarkable personal marathon across Lagos, a city famous for its energy, ambition and, of course, its unpredictable traffic.
I found myself attending three major media events convened by three distinguished Fellows of the Nigerian media community and respected members of our revered Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).
Each event held in a different part of the city, turning my day into a triple journey that tested time, patience and navigation skills.
Two of the engagements took place in Victoria Island, while the third drew me back to the mainland in Ogba.
As I reflect, I still marvel at how I managed to weave through Lagos traffic and kept every appointment without losing momentum.
My tripod of engagements began with The Niche Lecture, thoughtfully organised by the amiable Publisher, Mr. Ikechukwu Amaechi, and his diligent team.
The event, which had Abia Governor, Alex Otti in attendance as guest speaker, held at the serene and intellectually rich environment of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island.
From there, I made a quick dash to the Bullion Lecture at the upscale Civic Centre on Ozumba Mbadiwe, still within Victoria Island.
Kudos to Dr. Ray Echebiri and his team, who continue to raise the bar with this prestigious annual gathering that draws the finest minds in economy, policy and governance.
Barely catching my breath, I then journeyed back to the mainland, the very place where my day had started, heading straight to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba.
There, one of the revered elders of our profession, Chief Shola Osunkeye, marked his 70th birthday with a book launch and colloquium.
It was a fitting celebration of a life devoted to journalism, mentorship and excellence.
It was at this milestone event that I finally slowed down, relaxed and savoured conversations with colleagues and guests.
The long but fulfilling day gradually wound down as I made my way home before dusk, returning to the warm embrace of my young family.
Beyond the physical movement, the day was rich in learning, laughter and meaningful interactions.
Each event offered insights, inspiration and the rare privilege of honouring senior colleagues who personally reached out and insisted on my presence.
For me, it was not a burden but a profound honour.
Indeed, yesterday was proof that with determination, respect for relationships and a bit of Lagos survival instinct, one can accomplish what initially seems impossible.
