Suspected robbers kill IBB varsity student

Suspected armed robbers have killed a 200-level student of the Ibrahim Babangida University Lapai in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

The deceased was simply identified as Jafar.

Arewa PUNCH learnt that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday at one of the apartments where students reside off campus.

Our correspondent gathered that Jafar, said to be the only son of his parents, was allegedly stabbed on the neck by the robbers when they invaded his lodge close to the university’s gate in the early morning of the fateful day at about 2:30am.

Although, he was said to have been rushed to the General Hospital Lapai where the medical experts confirmed him dead on arrival.

Following Jafar’s killing, enraged students of IBBL University took to the streets to protest what they termed the constant killing of their colleagues by men of the underworld.

To express their anger over the dastardly act, the students blocked the Agaie-Lapai road, causing a traffic gridlock. Punch
