Popular US influencer found dead in Tanzania hotel after engagement

Ashly Robinson, the US influencer popularly known online as Ashlee Jenae, has passed away at the age of 31 while on vacation in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Her family confirmed the passing in an Instagram statement, revealing that Robinson had travelled to the island with Joe McCann, her fiancé, to celebrate her 31st birthday on April 5.

The lovebirds got engaged during the trip, with Jenae posting footage from the event to her over 113,000 Instagram followers on April 3.

According to the statement, Robinson was later found unconscious in her luxury villa at the Zuri Zanzibar resort. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead hours later.

The family described her death as “suspicious” and said an active investigation is underway. They urged the public to avoid speculation and trust the authorities in Zanzibar, adding that they are working closely with officials “as we seek clarity and answers”.
