A special court in Coimbatore, India, has sentenced a Nigerian, Samson Chukwunonso, to 10 years’ imprisonment for drug trafficking.
PUNCH Metro learnt this from a report by the Times of India on Tuesday.
The new agency disclosed that the case dated back to July 2012, when operatives of the Narcotics Control Bureau , Chennai unit, intercepted three parcels at a courier office and discovered 1.195 kg of heroin and 200 grams of methaqualone, valued at more than ₹2 crore (about $240,000) in the international market.
The report disclosed that further investigations traced the consignment to 40-year-old Samson, who was allegedly living illegally in Erode. Punch
