Jigawa
Bandits attacked the students’ quarters of Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, located along the Malam Madori road in Jigawa State, on Thursday night.
The attackers reportedly assaulted several students and snatched numerous mobile phones. They also attempted to abduct some students but were unsuccessful due to the victims’ cries for help.
Speaking to PUNCH Online, an eyewitness who preferred anonymity said, “It was around midnight when the attackers came. They caused chaos, injured some students, and took away many phones belonging to the students.”
Another eyewitness, Tukur Danlami, added, “If not for the loud shouts and screams of the students, we wouldn’t have known what happened. Neighbours from nearby communities rushed to help, forcing the attackers to flee.” Punch
