Gunmen abduct three worshippers in Zamfara mosque

At least three worshippers were abducted during the early morning prayer in Yarlaluka, Dansadau, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

A counterinsurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, reported on Tuesday that suspected gunmen stormed the mosque at about 5:55am on Sunday while congregants were observing prayers, whisking away three people.

The attack came barely days after gunmen invaded a mosque in the Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, where a worshipper who resisted abduction was shot dead.

The rising wave of attacks on places of worship has sparked fear among residents and renewed calls on the government to step up efforts to protect lives. Punch
