Members of the Obedient Movement in Sokoto State extended humanitarian support to over 100 vulnerable patients at Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital in commemoration of the birthday of former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Each beneficiary received a cash donation of ₦5,000 to assist with medical bills, in what the group described as a gesture inspired by Obi’s consistent advocacy for a better and more inclusive Nigeria.
Speaking during the disbursement visit, the state chairman of the organising committee of the programme, Abubakar Yawale, said the initiative was part of a nationwide outreach happening simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Yawale said, “This is the kind of politics Peter Obi represents: people-centred, compassionate, and impactful. Punch
