The Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has sealed off the St. Mary Catholic Cathedral, Oke-Padre, Ibadan, over allegations of air pollution and improper sewage disposal.
The development was disclosed by the Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin, during a press conference marking the 2025 World Communications Day, held at the Pastoral Institute in Bodija, Ibadan.
Archbishop Abegunrin criticised the manner in which the church was shut down, saying no prior notice or official warning was given.
He described the ministry’s action as abrupt and lacking in civility. Punch
