Microsoft is reportedly set to lay off about 9,000 employees in a new round of job cuts.
According to CNBC, the layoffs will affect less than 4 percent of the company’s global workforce and will cut across multiple departments, levels, and geographies.
“We continue to implement organizational changes necessary to best position the company and teams for success in a dynamic marketplace,” a spokesperson for Microsoft was quoted as saying in an emailed statement.
Internal sources told CNBC that the company is seeking to flatten its management structure and make teams more agile. Thecable
