FIFA rankings: Again, Eagles drop to 45th spot globally, now sixth in Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped to 45th position in the latest FIFA ranking revealed on Thursday.

The Eric Chelle-tutored national side also slipped out of the top five nations in Africa.

The AFCON 2024 silver medalists dropped a place from the previous ranking on the back of poor outings in recent international matches.The Super Eagles home-based team endured a disastrous CHAN campaign, while the main team struggled to beat Rwanda in Uyo, before taking a point in South Africa.The poor performances saw Nigeria accumulate a negative points tally in the period under review, losing her fifth position to Ivory Coast.
