D’Tigress arrive Abuja after Afrobasket final victory

Players and officials of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have arrived in Abuja following their departure from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, at 10 am on Monday, August 4, 2025, via two chartered flights.

The championship-winning women’s basketball team landed at the private wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 2:00 p.m.They will head to the Aso Rock Villa, where President Bola Tinubu will officially receive the team and officials.

The national women’s senior basket, made history Sunday night in Abidjan by becoming the first team on the continent to win five Women’s AfroBasket titles in a row following a gusty display against Mali.
