The epoch event, which held on Sunday, October 12, at the upscale Cabana Pub Mostoles, in the heart of Madrid, was hugely attended by leading Anambra sons and daughters, as well as their associates and well wishers.
While giving his opening remarks at the free and fair election, where Chief Amaeze was unanimously elected unopposed, one of the founders of Anambra State Association, Elder Duke Odukwe Okwulu Jesus, spoke extensively on the spirit behind ASA Madrid.
He urged members to elect a leader filled with fear of God.
“We want a leader with the ability to promote peace and love among all and sundry within the association and even beyond,” he stated.
The high point of the grand gathering was the presentation of the certificate of return to Chief Chukwudi St. Amaeze, as the duly elected president general of ASA Madrid, Spain.
This historic assignment was ably performed by the electoral committee chairman, Honourable Chief Calistus Obiakoeze, amid applause and cheers from visibly elated members present.
The election was conducted via a very transparent voting process; however the other two contestants withdrew from the race.
