In what can only be described as yet another episode of African football theatre, tensions between Senegal national football team and Morocco national football team have reportedly escalated following a shocking and controversial verdict by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
From disputed decisions to allegations of bias, the situation has taken on a messy, who-deserves-it-more narrative that threatens to overshadow the beauty of the game itself.
Fans are divided, analysts are arguing, and African football once again risks being dragged into unnecessary controversy.
But perhaps the solution is simpler than all the noise.
Rather than allowing this dispute to spiral into prolonged bitterness, CAF should take a bold and unifying step, one that would instantly end the chaos, restore calm, and maybe even bring a smile to millions of faces across the continent.
Hand the trophy to the Nigerian national football team globally known as the Super Eagles. Case closed.

Moreover, some of us still remember vividly, the Sarumi and Agbalajobi political crisis, which paved the way for Otedola to emerge victorious as Lagos governor, in the 90s.
Now, before anyone reaches for the rulebook, let’s admit the obvious: this suggestion may not follow conventional football logic.
