Three major opposition parties are missing from the ballot papers for the Kano state house of assembly by-election scheduled for Saturday.
According to Arise TV, the affected parties are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“Nine political parties, excluding PDP, NNPP and ADC, are boldly listed on the ballot papers,” Arise TV said.
The Kano by-election is to fill two vacant seats in the state house of assembly following the deaths of the former lawmakers last year, both of whom were members of the NNPP.
Earlier, TheCable reported that President Bola Tinubu urged officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take all necessary measures to boost voters’ confidence during the polls in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano and Rivers states.
